Boss enemy and some smaller enemies from Arcane Waters.
I had a lot of fun animating these.
Proof of concept for 16 bit pixel art visuals. I like how those background castles turned out.
This is the character select screen and some in game animations for Clan N, a scrolling brawler I've been working on for a few years that was released at the start of the month.
It's available on all the consoles and Steam. You can find out more here.

Some background graphics I made for a pixel art MMORPG game called Arcane Waters. This has been in development for a few years now and every time I get a glimpse of it it’s received another layer of polish, care and attention.

A 16x16 RPG overworld asset pack with animated water effects. Available now from itch.io.
This was a real labour of love. Originally it was supposed to be a quick project but it ended up being close to 3 years on and off of little tweaks and improvements here and there. I’m still updating it, so it isn’t finished yet!
Landscape pixel art piece from photo reference. Uses the Pico-8 16 colour palette. Animating the scrolling, the wind blowing and the transition fades in Photoshop was a nightmare!
I've put together an asset collection of 80s style arcade game pick-up items. You can take a peek at (or, you know, actually buy...) the fruits of my labour on itch.io and I'll be rolling it out on other asset stores over the coming month.

Pixel art cloudscapes. I spent a lot of time experimenting with CRT effects and alternate palettes but I think presenting the clean pixel art here shows them off best. Cheeky 4 colour edit included.

A personal pixel art piece I've been working on in my spare time over the past couple of months. I had in mind a few different things I wanted to try like the foreground and background contrast, the cloudscape and the sense of height and scale.
Pixel art piece using the NES colour palette and technical restrictions. The design is based roughly on the Pura Lempuyang Door.
Periodically I'll do a bunch of these to unwind, usually at the end of the year.
Shattered Throne is a tactics based strategy game developed by Checkmark Games in the tradition of Advance Wars. This is a selection of sprite and map tile art I produced for the game which launched on Steam in late 2016. You can check out the game's store listing here.
These started life as simple pen and ink sketches. Colouring was done digitally in Photoshop but I tried to keep to the slightly sloppy, lose feeling of the original drawings to stop things looking too digital and clinical.
A pixel art depiction of the age old struggle between yeti and octopus.
Screen print concepts taken from my 'zine Nature Without Man. The colour palettes are based around blocks of overlaid CMYK inks. I'll be producing a hand printed run of the crocodile image later in 2016.
Three pixel art images created as a tribute to the 1999 arcade game Ikaruga created by Treasure. There's a near endless wealth of visual detail in this game that made this project incredibly fun to work on.
From my Nature Without Man series. Screen prints of this image, hand printed by yours truly, are available to buy on Etsy right here.
A pixel art tribute to the Pikmin games from Nintendo. This is one of the earliest "modern" pixel art images I produced back in 2008.
These are a selection of images from a personal project where I produced a series of landscapes while working within strict artistic rules.
Partia is a tactical role playing game series developed by Imago Games available on iOS and Android. Working as a pixel artist and animator I produced unit animations, environment tile sets, GUI graphics and incidental images for the series.
The third game is currently in development and is expected to release later in 2016. In the meantime the first two titles are available on iOS and Android.
Novus was an unfinished tactical role playing game project that I contributed environmental art assets for working in close contact with the team's art director.
It was vital that all art produced matched the existing style template. The images here represent a selection of the tile graphics I produced for the project.
A selection from a series of acrylic paintings featuring the Yeti character.
Portraits of Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis from the movie Bubba Ho Tep, a personal favourite of mine.
